Olivia Kane

Hi! My name is Ms. Kane and I teach chemistry and scientific research.
I am new to Howard this year and have taught science at Dalewood Middle School for the past two years. I am eager to work with you to develop your scientific literacy skills and provide challenging, meaningful learning experiences.

I grew up in New Jersey and went to a small college in Kentucky called Centre College, where I studied chemistry and Spanish. After Centre, I moved to Chattanooga where I began teaching and earned my M.A.T in secondary science education. In my spare time, I love to read, take my pup Maisy on hikes, and binge-watch the occasional true-crime series on Netflix.

Regardless of whether you are taking my course face-to-face or through HCS At Home, I am committed to ensuring that you receive quality instruction despite any COVID-related difficulties this year may bring. All coursework will be accessible through Canvas for the entire 2020-21 school year. I am able to be reached via text or call at 423-401-0905, or via email at kane_olivia@hcde.org. I encourage you to reach out to me in the event of any absence and with any questions/concerns about blended learning, particularly if I do not see you face to face during the school week.
